Brisbane Music Event Launch, Sunday 19th April 2015. Brisbane Singer Songwriter Jodie-Joy releases her music video single ‘Naked’ at the New Globe Theatre in Brisbane, a month before her independent EP album titled “J-J” hits radio in Australia.
Jodie-Joy has been busy making waves as a touring international songwriter and performer in the USA, working alongside two time Grammy award winning producer Marc Swersky, (Credits: Joe Cocker, Hillary Duff, Renee Geyer) and previously recorded with renowned labels, one of which is Columbia Records. Marc Swersky stated: “Jodie’s artistry is her voice, and she is equipped with her own individualised style that conjures up other radio-hit mavens such as Annie Lennox, Celine Dion and Dusty Springfield.” Adult contemporary pop music fans are sure to appreciate Jodie-Joy’s personal, honest and emotional contribution to the music scene.
At the event release of her independent music video on the 19th April, JJ and her band will also play the entire tracks of her much-anticipated EP album that will be available for pre sale, exclusively to ticket holding guests. Tickets are on sale now and her album will follow, through iTunes on 1st May 2015. JJ remarked that “the album is a combination of my life’s journey, and it is only fitting that the first single release be a universal anthem, as I want to lead by example in this fiercely masked world by opening up and sharing my story”.
JJ, a performer from a very young age having worked with the crème of Australian music industry greats Daniel Jones of Savage Garden, Hayden Bell (Veronicas), Audius (Delta Goodrem), Paul Mac, Phil Burton (Human Nature), TV Channel 9 & 10, Logie Awards and finalised in the Top 10 (voted 2nd) in Australia through Popstars TV Series. She released her debut album with Columbia Records and co-wrote with A-list songwriters in Sweden and UK, touring Asia with her own self produced stage shows, and performed in everything from national television appearances to intimate cabaret shows.
Jodie-Joy is also a successful entrepreneur, being founder of both an event entertainment company and also a separate singing school. Having taken a few years to focus on both her entrepreneurial pursuits and having a family, Jodie-Joy’s single “Naked” - to be released on iTunes one day after the April 19th event launch of its music video – allows the depth of her years out of the limelight to really shine through.
JJ’s crisp vocals and personal lyrics have been captivating her audiences in USA, and I know that her fans in Australia are eagerly awaiting the 19th April music event launch of her first music video, accompanied by an early, exclusive live performance of JJ’s original album with her band.
